The Center for Electrochemical Systems and Hydrogen Research addresses fundamental scientific issues related to renewable and environmentally benign energy sources via advanced research on solar power, hydrogen generation and storage, as well as batteries and fuel cells.

Our mission is to conduct fundamental studies that are essential for a potential hydrogen economy, including electrocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis for hydrogen generation, hydrogen separation/storage, and hydrogen fuel cells.
